Senior Pastor
Dr. Westbrook has served nearly 25 years overseas as a missionary (Asia) and has more than ten years of pastoral ministry experience. He is married to the former Jane Derrick of West Columbia, SC, and he and Jane have two children and six grandchildren. He graduated from Charleston Southern University (B.A.) in 1975, New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary (M.Div.) in 1978, and Columbia International University (D.Min.) in 1998. His life verse is from Philippians 1:20-21, “My eager expectation and hope is that I will not be ashamed about anything, but that now as always, with all boldness, Christ will be highly honored in my body, whether by life or by death. For me, living is Christ and dying is gain.”

Student Minister
Rev. Luther Harmon has joined our church staff as full-time Student Minister as of July 1, 2011. He is married to the former Katie Huggins of Pelion, SC. Luther is from Maryville, Tennessee. He graduated from North Greenville University, and has completed 2-years of his Master of Divinity degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.
Education Minister
On June 1, 2011, Rev. Phil Blackwell began serving as our Part-time Education Minister. Phil is married to the former Myra Coker of West Columbia, and both are from West Columbia. Phil is a graduate of Carson Newman College (B.A. in Psychology with minor in music, 1970) and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary (M.R.E. 1980). He retired from full-time church ministry in 2009. Phil has served for over 30 years in ministries involving music, youth, children, camps, and church education. He brings a wealth of experience accumulated through years of walking with the Lord and with His church. Though Phil is “officially” retired, but we are grateful that he has agreed to come and serve further with us as our Part-time Education Minister at Saluda River.
Music Director
Roy Hewett began serving as our Part-time Music Director at Saluda River in June 2007. He recently retired from the S.C. Department of Vocational Rehabilitation where he served for more than 28 years, the last several years of his career as the Director and Administrator of the Lexington County offices of the Department of Vocational Rehabilitation. He is a graduate of Limestone College (B.S. in Business Management) and the University of South Carolina (Master of Public Administration). He has ministered as a bi-vocational Music Director for more than 26 years beginning May, 1985 serving at the following Baptist churches: Jackson Creek, White Knoll, Kitti Wake, South Lexington, and, currently, Saluda River Baptist Church.
